About us
The Chair of Building Physics studies the urban climate from material to city scale including its impact on urban comfort, health and building energy. Using observations and models we try to understand the physical processes driving local heat islands during heat waves and how to mitigate them.
We are part of the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering (D-MAVT).
more details about our research
Our education activities include lectures at the bachelor and master level covering building materials, building physics (heat, acoustics, moisture, comfort, energy), moisture transport in porous materials and durability, building simulation and urban physics.
more details about our teaching
We are also highly involved in teaching at the master of integrated building systems (MBS).
Bachelor and master students participate in our research by carrying out a bachelor, semester or master thesis with us.
