18th ICNEM

The 18th International Conference on Nonlinear Elasticity in Materials

The ICNEM XVIII will be held in Ascona, Canton Ticino, Switzerland | Canton Ticino, Switzerland (Ascona) on the edge of Lago Maggiore from June 9-14, 2013. Canton Ticino is the only Italian-speaking Swiss canton and faces the magnificent Lake Maggiore.

The conference is set at the Centro Stefano Franscini, situated on the hill above the charming village of Ascona. The main building of the Centro was designed in 1924 by Emil Fahrenkamp, a member of the Bauhaus. The Hotel Monte Verita building is Switzerland Historical Hotel of the year for 2013 due to its well-preserved Bauhaus design, the avant-garde in architecture in the inter-war period. The bedrooms have recently been renovated extensively to recover their full original design, colors and Bauhaus furniture.
